The Angola 3

The Angola 3 comprise 3 men, Herman Wallace, Albert Woodfox and Robert King who were held in solitary confinement for decades in Angola prison, Louisiana.

King was released in 2002 having served 21 years in solitary confinement and lives in Louisiana. Wallace was released in 2013 after 42 years in solitary confinement and sadly passed away shortly after from a terminal illness. Woodfox was released in 2016 and enjoyed 6 years of freedom before his death during the covid-19 pandemic. Collectively know as the Angola 3, King, Wallace and Woodfox dedicated their lives to dismantling the racist oppressive criminal justice system and the state sanctioned torture and abuse that is rife within prisons and jails in the USA.
